Inflight Power
Info
The SynCh is a cinch to use. Please refer to the pictures below. You can also download our User Guide.
How the SynCh works Fig. 1 is a picture of the SynCh. Connector (A) is the input plug. This is a USB male connector, which plugs into the USB port on a PC or Mac, or into our Car and Wall adapters. Connectors (B) and (C) are the output connectors. (B) is the USB port and (C) is the Power port. (B) provides both power and USB 2.0 data, while (C) provides power only. Thus, you can charge two devices simultaneously, but you can only sync one device at a time.
To connect your devices, you will need to plug on the appropriate mTips. Please note the following: mTips
  • USB style mTips connect to (B), and Charge style mTips connect to (C)
  • The Power port on the SynCh fits some brands of cellphones and other devices directly, without requiring an mTip. These models are identified in the Compatibility pages. Note that the Power port is equivalent to USB mTip MTU-SAM1
  • Connecting two USB mTips: Many mTips are only available in USB style. If you would like to connect two USB mTips at the same time, you can do this with our USB Power adapter tip, which converts the Power port to USB
How the kwikSynCh works
Fig. 2 shows the kwikSynCh. Similar to the SynCh, the kwikSynCh has a USB input and two outputs. With the kwikSynCh, both outputs are USB style. Like the SynCh, one output (B) is power plus USB 2.0 data, while the other output (C) is power only. The functionality of the different outputs is clearly labeled on the kwikSynCh.

Which model should I purchase?
The kwikSynCh is ideal for connecting to a laptop. For greater extension, such as plugging into a car, wall or desktop PC, the retractable SynCh is the appropriate choice. mTips
mTips are the bridge between the SynCh / kwikSynCh, and your devices. mTips provide power and data connectivity for cellphones, headsets, PDAs, music players, cameras and a host of other personal electronics. They are the key to your never having to buy another charger again. Next time you get a new phone or other device, instead of buying a new charger, just pop on the correct mTip.
USB style mTips may deliver power, data or both, depending on the device, while Charge mTips are solely for power. The type of functionality provided by each mTip is clearly indicated with one of the following symbols:
Power only   |    Data only   |    Power + Data
Can I use the same mTip for more than one type of device?
Yes. Several mTips are used by multiple brands or devices. For example, our USB Mini mTip is used by BlackBerrys, MP3 players, cameras and more. For your convenience, we have listed each mTip application separately, by product category and brand. We encourage our customers to share similar mTips across their devices wherever possible, which is a great way to save more money.
Can I plug USB mTips directly into my PC?
Yes. You can plug USB style mTips directly into the USB ports on your PC or Mac, or into any standard USB cable. You do not need to plug them into the SynCh or kwikSynCh.
How do I know which mTip is compatible with my device?
Use our handy mTip finder. Helpful hint: Most cellphones list the model number under the back battery panel, or you can refer to your owner's manual.
I don't see my device listed under product compatibility
Due to the frequency of new product introductions, some newer models of cellphones and other devices may be compatible with the SynCh but not yet be listed. Please direct questions about product compatibility to support@mdiglobal.com.
We regularly add new mTips to our lineup, often in response to customer requests. If you have a product that you would like us to support, please let us know by emailing info@mdiglobal.com.
